Audit

Ads in 11 offices, in Large & Complex Audit or Portfolio Audit.

Assurance

Ads in Bristol, Edinburgh and Manchester. They say “four-year programme”. Check the length with Deloitte.

Deloitte publishes no salary figure. The ads promise “a market-leading salary”. Graduates can also get “up to a £7,000 interest-free loan” (benefits page). That is support, not pay.

Your qualification: ACA or CA
  • Deloitte’s words. The ACA with ICAEW or the CA with ICAS, “depending on where you’re based”. Ask Deloitte which applies to you.
  • What Deloitte pays. “funded tuition, paid study leave”, plus exam attempts and membership fees. You also get a student support adviser, a coach and an exam manager.
  • How study fits. Deloitte’s Catalyst pathway gives “dedicated periods of professional qualification learning alongside structured work placements”. The ads say this “reduces the need to balance exams and work commitments simultaneously”.
  • ICAEW’s rules. “14 exams split across three levels” and “a minimum of 450 days of professional experience”. “It typically takes between 3-5 years” (ICAEW).
  • ICAS’s rules. “approximately three years” (ICAS).

Know this for 2026-27

Opened on 28 September. Roles in Scotland opened on 21 September. Four ads were not listed when we checked on 15 October 2026: Audit London, Reading and Southampton, and Assurance London.

More on the form
  • No transfers. You cannot move your application to another role later (timelines page).
  • School grades. Most programmes have no A-level or GCSE requirement. The form still asks for them.
  • Extenuating circumstances. Send any evidence early. Deloitte “won’t be able to send you an invitation to the Final Stage Assessment until everything has been received” (application page).

Your CV: do and don’t

Do

“Reconciled our society’s £15,000 budget each month and caught £900 of double payments”

Show care with numbers, with a result.

Don’t

“Detail-oriented and passionate about finance”

A claim with no proof. Show the work instead.

Our CV achievement examples show how to write those lines. Getting ready to apply for jobs in the UK? Check your CV for free: see it the way a recruiter does, then fix each problem.

Missed it or not selected? Your options
  • Another office or programme. See the office table. Open ads “may close quickly”.
  • Pick with care. Deloitte has “a strict one application per year policy across our Early Careers opportunities”.
  • Penultimate year. The Audit summer vacation scheme starts June 2027 in 10 offices. On 21 October 2026, all ten summer ads gave no closing date. A returning offer “will be for the same business area and location”.
  • Placement year. The Audit Industrial Placement starts September 2027 in Cambridge, Leeds and Manchester. It can lead to “partial qualification by the end of your placement”. A return offer may be for “our September 2028 Graduate Programme”.
  • First year. Spring into Deloitte: Finance (Inspiring Women) runs in Manchester from 30 March to 31 March 2027. Applications open on 9 November 2026 and “will close once places are filled”.
  • IT Audit and Audit Analytics. Different programmes, with their own ads.
  • Next year. This year’s window opened on 28 September. A similar one is likely to open in September 2027, but Deloitte has not confirmed it.
  • Not selected. Deloitte says “you’re welcome to reapply”.

About 12 min

Numerical, speed counts

About 12 min

Verbal, speed counts

“There’s no overall time limit”. But in numerical and verbal, “the time you take will impact your score” (assessment page).

Step through Deloitte’s online tests

Numerical: speed counts

Read the instructions

The test opens with instructions. In the practice version the clock counts the time you take rather than counting down, and speed counts towards your score. Employers set their own version, so yours may differ.

Our drawing of the numerical test instructions: a dark blue title bar, a short intro, a list and notes on timing and calculators, with Previous and Next buttons.

Rank the options

Work out the answer from a table, then drag the options into order. A Time Taken clock runs at the top.

Our drawing of a numerical ranking question: a short question, a table of depots and parcels, and five rows being dragged into order.

Pick one answer

Read the table and the question, then pick one answer from the list.

Our drawing of a numerical pick-one question: a question next to a table of gym bookings, and five numeric answers with one picked.

Type the answer

Some questions have no options. Work out the figure from the chart and type it into the answer box.

Our drawing of a numerical typed-answer question: a question next to a bar chart of room prices, and an answer box with 170 typed in.

Your moves

  • Keep a calculator, pen and paper to hand, as Deloitte recommends.
  • Check each answer before you press submit. You cannot go back.

Verbal: speed counts

Match the reply to a message

Each module tests a different verbal skill. Here you drag each reply under the message it best answers, judging only the style. Employers set their own version, so yours may differ.

Our drawing of a verbal matching question: two messages with drop areas, and a reply card being dragged under the formal message.

Complete the text

A short passage has gaps. Choose the right word for each gap from a small drop-down list.

Our drawing of a verbal gap-fill question: a passage with small drop-down boxes, one filled and one open showing three word choices.

Correct the paragraph

A short notice contains spelling, grammar and punctuation errors. Click into the paragraph and fix them.

Our drawing of a verbal error-checking question: a notice with a few mistakes in an editable box, and a tab saying click on the paragraph to make a change.

Rank the replies

Read how a team replied to an idea. Drag the five replies into order, from most positive to least positive.

Our drawing of a verbal ranking question: five lettered replies in numbered rows, with the second row being dragged.

True, false or can’t say

Read a short passage. For each statement, choose True, False or Can’t say from a drop-down, based only on the passage.

Our drawing of a verbal reasoning question: a passage, five statements with drop-down boxes, two set to True and one open.

Your moves

  • For true, false or can’t say, use only what the passage states.
  • Read the whole paragraph before you fix errors.

Behavioural: untimed

The written screen belongs to the Job Simulation. These screens follow Cappfinity’s practice player, so Deloitte’s real screens may look a little different.

Read the welcome page

A welcome page explains the assessment and gives a few tips. Press Continue to start. Employers set their own version, so yours may differ.

Our drawing of a welcome page with a short intro, a list of tips and a Continue button on a pale background.

Rank the responses

A short work scenario comes with four possible actions. Drag them into order, from the one you would most likely take to the least likely.

Our drawing of a ranking question: a scenario, four lettered actions in numbered rows, and one row being dragged by its handle.

Move the slider

Some questions ask where you sit between two views. Drag the handle along the scale, and a box above it shows what you picked.

Our drawing of a slider question: a scenario, a box reading You have selected Mostly adapt, and a five-point scale with the handle on Mostly adapt.

Pick the best response

A scenario comes with four responses. Pick the one you think is most appropriate, then save and go on.

Our drawing of a pick-one question: a scenario and four response rows with round buttons, the first one picked.

Write your answer

Some questions ask for a written answer. These can be timed, and a counter shows how many characters you have left.

Our drawing of a written question: a prompt, a text box with a typed answer, a small countdown ring marked as timed, and a remaining characters counter.

Your moves

  • “Go with your gut instinct”, as Deloitte’s recruiters advise.
  • Type every word yourself. Pasting is blocked and there is no spellcheck.

Video: Job Simulation

The Job Simulation also asks for recorded video answers.

  • First a set-up clip, which you can record again.
  • Each question gives you time to prepare.
  • Answer in English. Assessed answers cannot be re-recorded.

Your moves

  • Try the Candidate Zone’s practice Job Simulation first.
  • Tell your housemates, to avoid what Deloitte calls “a cameo appearance”.

Our own simplified drawings of Cappfinity’s practice screens, not screenshots. Numbers on them are examples. Deloitte’s version may differ.

06/10Stage 3 · Interviews

The topic discussion and interview

Two exercises, on one in-person day at your office. Deloitte publishes no case, accounting or technical interview.

About 15 minutes of your findings · Then questions · No slides

Motivation · Past examples · Scenarios · Values

Deloitte asks you to use AI for your topic research and to explain how you used it. AI is banned in the interviews themselves.

You meet people from the area you applied to. Deloitte says “This could be Managers, Directors, and in some cases Partners”.

Your mandatory preparation
  • The task. Choose one of the topics Deloitte gives you and spend up to two hours on it. “you don’t need to prepare slides”.

Your career

Why Assurance and not Audit, or the reverse?

What they’re testing: that you chose your programme with care.

Show a strong answer

The qualification

How will you handle exams alongside client work?

What they’re testing: that you know the qualification takes real study.

Your questions

“What aspects of the role and responsibilities do you want to know more about?”

From Deloitte’s Interview Guide

  • Say what went wrong, what you changed and the result the second time.

Scenario and topic questions

The first three follow Deloitte’s guides. The last is ours.

Scenario

You built a new way for your team to report project progress. How would you present it to colleagues?

Based on Deloitte’s example question

Topic

“What research did you come across that you decided to discount?”

From Deloitte’s Discussion Guide

AI

How did you use AI, and what value did it add?

Based on Deloitte’s mandatory preparation
