Short answer: On 19 October 2026 Pfizer had no public UK graduate ad and gave no next date. Its placements page names the Future Leaders Graduate Programme. The main route Pfizer shows is a 12-month placement during your degree. You apply with Pfizer’s form, not a CV, then have a remote interview. Pfizer names no online test. Graduates should watch Pfizer’s job site.

Your route to Pfizer

On 19 October 2026 Pfizer had no public UK graduate ad. It had no UK graduate page. It had no register-interest page. Pfizer gives no next date.

The programme is still named. Pfizer’s undergraduate placements page quotes a marketing placement student: “I’m delighted that I’ll be coming back on the Future Leaders Graduate Programme after completing my University Degree.”

So the main route Pfizer shows is a 12-month placement during your degree.

The last graduate date on a Pfizer UK page is old. An R&D graduate rotation page said “Applications for the 2025 intake will likely open in August 2024” (archived 2 December 2023). That R&D programme’s page is now gone. Its line is not a date for 2027.

The 2027/28 placements live on 19 October 2026

Three placements were live on 19 October 2026. Each ad gives 1 November 2026 as its closing date.

Placement Site Job ID
Undergraduate Regulatory Strategist Walton Oaks, hybrid 4965710
Undergraduate Clinical Development Scientist Marlow, hybrid 4965618
GH&B Commercial Marketing Undergraduate Walton Oaks, on site 4965383

More roles will follow. Pfizer’s form says “Most positions will be open for a period of 3 weeks”. New roles will be posted until the end of March 2027. They appear on the undergraduate vacancies page.

Pick your stage and tick each step when done. The stages are Pfizer’s placement stages. Prep times are our suggestions.

1. Get ready: before a role opens

Most placement roles stay open about three weeks. Get the form ready before yours appears. Prep 2 to 3 days.

Get ready now

2. Apply: a form, not a CV

Upload Pfizer’s form on the role’s Workday ad. Up to two roles. Prep 1 to 2 days per form.

How to apply

3. Interview: remote, usually

A remote interview, unless the hiring manager asks for one on site. Prep about a week.

4. Offer and placement: 12 months

Pfizer gives no final-round detail. Its process always includes an interview and never asks you to pay.

Write five stories

One real example for each competency on the form, in 200 words or less.

Try Molecule to Market

Pfizer’s free virtual work experience takes “on average 4-6 hours”. Pfizer says it can “make you stand-out during our recruitment process”.

Learn the values

The placement ads name “courage, joy, equity and excellence”. Find a moment from your life for one of them.

Read the AI rules

Pfizer’s AI guidelines say where AI helps and where it gets you rejected. See chapter 05.

Already graduated?

Pfizer’s student routes are closed to graduates. Each source says so in its own words.

  • Placements. “you must be studying for a degree at a UK University and be based within the UK to complete your placement” (vacancies page).
  • Summer programme. “Graduate students are not eligible to apply” (summer student page).
  • Apprenticeships. Cogent Skills, Pfizer’s apprenticeship partner, says: “If you are near completing or will have completed a degree in the same subject as the apprenticeship you will be over qualified and cannot be considered.” (Cogent Skills).
  • Ireland. Pfizer’s 2027 graduate ads in Ireland had closed by 19 October 2026. They were not a UK route.

Our reading: for a graduate, the realistic step today is to watch Pfizer’s Workday job site for UK graduate roles. If your wider search has stalled, see why you can’t find a job.

Undergraduate placements

12 months at a UK site, in Commercial, R&D, Medical or Business Operations. “We do not offer remote worker undergraduate positions.”

Where these facts come from
  • Sites. Pfizer’s placements page names Walton Oaks in Tadworth, Surrey; Discovery Park in Sandwich, Kent; Marlow in Buckinghamshire; and its Devices Centre of Excellence in Cambridge.
  • Start. “Placements start at the beginning of September each year, but recruitment starts a full year beforehand.”
  • Pay and leave. Pfizer “Offers competitive salary and benefits including 25.5 days annual leave”, plus “five paid volunteering days”. It gives no figure. Compare salaries in the UK.
  • Graduate pay. Pfizer publishes no graduate pay figure.
  • The old R&D programme. An archived page from October 2023 described a two-year R&D rotation programme at Sandwich, running from September 2024 to August 2026. That page is now gone. It does not describe today’s programme.
The main route Pfizer shows into its UK graduate programme, in five steps. Step 1: download Pfizer's application form, which replaces a CV. Step 2: apply on Pfizer's Workday site, for up to two placement roles. Step 3: an interview, held remotely unless a hiring manager asks for one on site. Step 4: a 12-month placement at a UK site, starting in September. Step 5: finish your degree, then the Future Leaders Graduate Programme, as a placement student quoted on Pfizer's page did. Pfizer publishes no pay figure. It offers placements a competitive salary and 25.5 days annual leave.

What Pfizer looks for

Pfizer’s form scores five competencies. Its placement ads add AI literacy. Prepare one example for each.

Determination and resilience

“What challenges did you face, what actions did you take, and what was the outcome?” Show it with a goal you reached after a setback.

Self-awareness

“one strength and one development area”. Show it by naming a real weakness and what you are doing about it.

Conflict or a challenge

“manage disagreement, conflict or a difficult situation”. Show it with what you said and what you learned.

Communication

“explain information, influence others or adapt your approach to your audience”. Show it with one audience you had to win over.

Team contribution

“What was your role, what impact did you have, and what was the outcome?” Show it with your part, not the team’s.

AI literacy

Two of the three live ads ask for it. Pfizer says it “actively seeks AI-fluent candidates”. Show it with a task where you used AI and checked its output.

Competencies from Pfizer’s 2027/28 application form. On degrees, the Regulatory Strategist ad asks for a “life science degree course”. The Clinical Development Scientist ad says “preferably in Life sciences or chemistry”. The ads name Pfizer’s values as “courage, joy, equity and excellence”.

04/10Stage 1 · Apply

How to apply for a Pfizer placement

You apply with Pfizer’s application form, not a CV. Pfizer says “All applications that don’t have an application form will be rejected.”

The form rules: two roles, closing dates and support
  • Form only. “Please do NOT submit a CV or cover letter; attach the completed application form ONLY.”
  • Two roles at most. “You may apply for a maximum of TWO undergraduate placement roles.” Upload the form “separately to each relevant Job ID”.
  • Closing dates differ. “Check the closing date for each job. Different positions have different dates.” (vacancies page).
  • Who can apply. The ads say you must be “completing placement as part of a degree course at a UK University, either through Year in Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year.”
  • Also on the form. “Degree modules studied with examination results to date”, and your work experience.
  • Adjustments. If you need reasonable adjustments, “please let us know when requested in the application process.”

The form’s questions

Nine questions, most with a 200-word limit. The longest is “Why are you interested in working for Pfizer”, at 250 words.

The questions on Pfizer's placement application form, with maximum word counts. Written questions: what your course and work experience gave you, 200 words; extracurricular activities, 200 words; why Pfizer and what you want to gain, 250 words; extra skills for the department, 200 words. Competency questions, 200 words each: determination or resilience, self-awareness, conflict or a challenge, communication, and team contribution. Pfizer suggests Situation, Task, Action, Result, Reflection, and wants what you personally did and learned.
The nine questions on Pfizer’s form. The competency areas are the best guide to the interview too. (click to enlarge)

Pfizer’s guidance: “We are interested in what you personally did, what you learned and how your example relates to the placement you are applying for.” The form also asks one direct question: “Being a pharmaceutical research company, Pfizer needs to and does conduct testing on animals. Do you have any objections?”

Your form answers: do and don’t

Do

“I rewrote our society’s lab safety briefing for first-years. Sign-ups for the practical rose from 12 to 30.”

One action, one result. Pfizer wants “what you personally did”.

Don’t

“I am an excellent communicator and a natural team player.”

No example and no result. Pfizer’s AI rules also ban AI text that exaggerates or invents experience.

The form replaces your CV for placements. Your CV still matters if a graduate role appears on Workday, which asks for one. Our CV achievement examples show how to give each example a result. Missed a role, or not ready yet? Your other options
  • New placement roles. Pfizer posts them until the end of March 2027. Check the vacancies page every week or two.
  • Summer Student Programme. Pfizer says its 2027 programme will open for applications in mid-March 2027. It runs 2 to 12 weeks, for students at a UK university.
  • Apprenticeships. Cogent Skills says Pfizer’s main 2027 campaign will open to applications in November 2026. Same-subject graduates cannot apply.
  • Molecule to Market. Free virtual work experience from Pfizer, on Forage. It needs a free account.

05/10Stage 2 · Tests and AI

Online tests and Pfizer’s AI rules

Pfizer names no online test for placements or graduates. The 2027/28 placement process is the form, then a remote interview.

Pfizer’s AI use guidelines cover any assessment it does send. You may use AI to “practice interview questions, improve my own responses”. You may not “Complete technical or leadership assessments using AI unless specifically stated it’s permitted”. You may not use “AI and other external tools to generate answers during live or recorded interviews”.

Pfizer's AI rules for candidates. Allowed: researching Pfizer and its industry, proofreading your application, practising interview questions and improving your own answers. Not allowed: hidden or white text, AI content that exaggerates or invents experience, AI on technical or leadership assessments unless Pfizer says it is permitted, and AI-generated answers during live or recorded interviews. Voice cloning, deepfakes and other identity deception are also banned.

06/10Stage 3 · Interview

The Pfizer placement interview

Pfizer runs 2027/28 placement interviews remotely. A hiring manager may ask for an on-site interview instead.

The form says “All recruitment for the 2027/28 Undergraduate placements will take place remotely during 2026/2027 unless the hiring manager specifically requests an onsite interview.” Pfizer gives no format, length or question type. For the graduate programme, Pfizer does not state its interviews. Our reading: the form’s five competency areas are the best guide.

Competency questions

The five competency questions from Pfizer’s 2027/28 form. Our reading: the interview may probe the same areas. The tips are ours.

Resilience

“Describe a time when you showed determination or resilience to achieve a goal.”

How to answer
  • Pick a goal that nearly failed. Spend most of your time on the actions you took after the setback.

Self-awareness

“Tell us about one strength and one development area.”

How to answer
  • Name a real development area, not a disguised strength. Then say what you are doing about it now.

Conflict

“Give an example of a time when you had to manage disagreement, conflict or a difficult situation.”

How to answer
  • Show you listened first. Say what you agreed, and what you would do differently next time.

Communication

“Describe a time when you used effective communication skills to explain information, influence others or adapt your approach to your audience.”

How to answer
  • Name the audience and what they did not know. Then say how you changed your words or format for them.

Teamwork

“Give an example of how you made a positive contribution to a team.”

How to answer
  • Use “I” for your part. Give one number or outcome the team reached because of it.

Motivation questions

The four written questions from Pfizer’s 2027/28 form. Our reading: expect to talk about the same things. The tips are ours.

Why Pfizer

“Why are you interested in working for Pfizer, and what experience, achievements or development would you like to gain from completing a placement with us?”

How to answer
  • Tie your answer to the department you applied for. Name one thing you want to learn there, and why.

Your course

“What benefits have you gained from your university course and/or work experience? What did you enjoy most and why?”

How to answer
  • Pick one module or job that links to the role. Say what you can now do that you could not before.

Outside study

“Please give details of your main extracurricular activities and interests. What have you contributed and what have you gained from them?”

How to answer
  • Pfizer asks you to “Mention any posts of responsibility”. Lead with the one where you changed something.

Extra skills

“Please give details of any additional qualifications, skills or experience you would bring to the department you have applied for.”

How to answer
  • Match one skill to a line in the ad, such as AI literacy. Show where you used it.

Your offer and the placement year

Pfizer gives no final-round detail for placements or graduates. It does say how to spot a fake offer.

“a competitive salary along with benefits including 25.5 days annual leave”. Pfizer gives no figure.

Volunteering

The placements page lists “five paid volunteering days”.

Visa sponsorship

Pfizer’s UK early-careers pages and ads say nothing about visa sponsorship. We read them on 19 October 2026.

One placement ad, the Clinical Development Scientist role, asked for “Eligibility to work unrestricted in the UK on a full time basis” on 19 October 2026. Our reading: if you need sponsorship, ask Pfizer before you apply.

The Graduate visa
  • Graduate visa. It lasts “2 years if you apply on or before 31 December 2026” and “18 months if you apply on or after 1 January 2027” (GOV.UK).
