Applicants must first get an endorsement for the UK Global Talent visa from a designated endorsing body relevant to their field, which confirms their exceptional talent or potential. Once endorsed, you apply for the visa within 3 months of the date on your endorsement letter. If you hold an eligible prize, you skip the endorsement stage and apply for the visa directly. Validity period

You choose how long your visa lasts, up to 5 years at a time. You can extend it as often as you like, with no limit on total time. You can apply for settlement (indefinite leave to remain) after 3 years with an exceptional talent endorsement, any research endorsement or an eligible prize. The cost of the application

The total cost to apply for the Global Talent Visa is £766. If you are applying based on an endorsement, this fee is split into two parts: £561 for the endorsement application and £205 for the visa application itself. If you are applying based on an eligible prize, you will need to pay the full £766 when you submit your visa application.

Additionally, if you are including your partner or children in your application, each family member will also need to pay £766.

You will also pay the Immigration Health Surcharge up front: £1,035 per year for each adult and £776 per year for each child under 18. For one adult on a 3-year visa, the fee and surcharge come to £3,871.

France Passeport Talent Visa 🇫🇷

Main conditions and application process

The Passeport Talent is now officially called the multi-year Talent residence card (carte de séjour pluriannuelle talent). Each category needs a concrete basis in France. That can be a job contract, a research hosting agreement, a business project, an investment, or proof of national or international renown. You apply for a long-stay visa at the French consulate where you live. After you arrive, you apply online for the Talent card within 2 months. If your contract is shorter than 12 months, the visa itself serves as your residence permit and must be validated within 3 months.

Validity period

The Talent card is valid for up to 4 years, depending on your contract or project. It can be renewed. After 5 years you can apply for the 10-year EU long-term resident card. Since 2026 this needs French at B1 level and a pass in a civic exam.

The cost of the application

The long-stay visa costs €99. The visa centre may add a service fee. When your Talent card is ready, you pay €350 in tax stamps (a €300 tax plus €50 stamp duty). This price has applied to first cards since 1 May 2026. It was €225 before. A renewal costs €250. If you apply as the founder of an innovative start-up, the French Ministry of the Economy must recognise your project.

There is no single savings figure. Each category has its own test. Employees must meet a salary floor. In 2026 it is €39,582 gross a year for the qualified employee route, which needs a master’s-level degree from France. It is €59,373 for the EU Blue Card. Company founders must show resources of at least €22,404.20 a year. A new business also needs at least €30,000 of funding. Investors must invest at least €300,000.

The Talent card allows you to live and work in France, start a business, and bring family members with you. Your spouse gets a Talent (family) card, which lets them work. Validity period

EB-1A is not a temporary visa. It is an immigrant petition that leads to a green card, which means permanent residence. There is no initial 3-year period.

The cost of the application

Form I-140 costs $715 by paper or $665 online. Self-petitioners also pay a $300 Asylum Program Fee. Premium processing costs $2,965 extra. With it, USCIS acts within 15 business days. That action can be an approval, a denial or a request for more evidence. If you apply through a US consulate, the immigrant visa fee is $345 per person. You then pay the $235 USCIS Immigrant Fee before your green card is issued. If you are already in the US, you file Form I-485 instead. It costs $1,440 by paper or $1,390 online.

You also need a medical exam with an approved doctor. Doctors set their own fees. Ask for a quote.

EB-1A gives you a green card. You can live and work in the US permanently. Your spouse and unmarried children under 21 can get green cards with you.

USCIS processing times change often. Check the USCIS processing times page for Form I-140. Premium processing covers the petition only, not the green card stage. For most countries, EB-1 green cards are available straight away. People born in India or China must wait for their priority date. Applicants must have a job offer from a Canadian employer and meet specific qualifications and experience requirements. Category A is for employers referred by a designated partner to hire unique, specialised talent. Category B is for jobs on the Global Talent Occupations List, such as software engineers, data scientists and some engineers.

Main conditions and application process

To apply, you need a valid job offer from a Canadian employer who is eligible under the Global Talent Stream. The employer applies for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), pays at least the prevailing wage and signs a Labour Market Benefits Plan. Once the LMIA is approved, you apply for a work permit to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Validity period

Employers can request an employment duration of up to 3 years, and the work permit can be extended. The Global Talent Stream itself is a temporary route. At least 1 year of skilled work in Canada can later help you qualify for permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class in Express Entry.

The cost of the application

The fee for the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is CAD 1,000 per position. The employer pays it. The work permit application fee is CAD 155, with an additional biometrics fee of CAD 85.

IT specialists without a degree can also qualify with at least 3 years of comparable experience in the last 7 years.

Main conditions and application process

To apply, you need a job offer with a salary that meets the minimum threshold for the Blue Card. In 2026 that is €50,700 a year gross. A lower threshold of €45,934.20 applies to shortage occupations, to people who graduated in the last 3 years and to IT specialists without a degree. These cases need approval from the Federal Employment Agency. The application involves submitting proof of your qualifications, job offer, and other supporting documents to the German immigration authorities.

Validity period

The Blue Card EU is granted for up to 4 years. If your contract is shorter, it covers the contract length plus 6 months. It is renewable. You can get a permanent settlement permit after 27 months, or after 21 months with German at B1 level.

The national (D) visa costs €75. The Blue Card itself costs €100 when it is issued in Germany. The optional fast-track procedure for skilled workers costs €411 more.

You also need a deposit of 600,000 THB held for 3 months, plus 180,000 THB for each dependant.

Main conditions and application process

You apply to the BOI SMART Visa Unit for an endorsement. After that, the visa is issued by Thai Immigration in Bangkok, or by a Thai embassy through the e-Visa system.

Validity period

SMART S gives a stay of up to 2 years, and it can be renewed.

The cost of the application

The fee is 10,000 THB for each year of visa permission. Embassy fees may differ.

Benefits

The visa allows you to live and work in Thailand. Your spouse and children under 20 can join you on a SMART O visa. SMART S holders need health insurance for the whole family.
