Get ready now
Six things to finish before the ads go upbefore you apply. Each comes from UBS’s own pages.
A CV that does the talking
UBS asks for no cover letter in most regions. It wants “what you’ve learned from these experiences”.
One programme, one team
You may apply for one programme in the UK each academic year. Pick your area now.
UBS’s readiness workbook
UBS’s “ten step interactive roadmap to recruitment readiness”. It covers your achievements, skills and why UBS.
Reasoning practice
UBS links to Aon’s practice page. It has free verbal, numerical and inductive samples.
A recorded practice answer
UBS’s workbook says “Put yourself on camera and record your answers”. Watch it back once.
Two market stories
Step 10 of the workbook asks for two news or business articles from the past two weeks.
Pick your stage and tick each step when done. Stages are from UBS’s pages, checked 18 October 2026. Prep times are ours.
1. Get ready and apply: CV and online form
An online application and your CV, reviewed on a rolling basis. Prep 1 to 2 weeks, before the ads go upbefore you apply.

London graduate salary
In the 2026 intake ads, London Global Banking graduates would “evaluate companies and develop models for M&A transactions”, “prepare industry analyses for pitches” and “get involved in the execution of live deals”. Those ads were team-specific, such as Real Estate, Gaming and Leisure, or Healthcare.
Where these facts come from
- Training. “GTP Induction kickstarts your program, an interactive 2-day training schedule”. Then “Ready 4 Work training” and an “AI Fluency Pathway”. The Junior Talent team, your line manager and a buddy support you (GTP page).
- Entry. “on track for a 2:1 (or equivalent) in your first undergraduate degree”. You must have “graduated in the last 24 months”, with “no more than two years of full-time work experience”. “You don’t need a degree in finance to be eligible.”
- Tasks. From the London Global Banking ads for the 2026 intake, saved on the Wayback Machine. This cycle’s ads may differ.
- Pay. No UBS page or ad we read gives a London graduate salary. For context, see salaries in the UK.

What UBS looks for
UBS says what it wants in plain words. Have one example ready for each line.
“performance-driven people”
Show it by: a result you pushed past what was asked.
“a people person”
Show it by: a team where you won people over to a plan.
“unique perspectives”
Show it by: a time your different view changed the outcome.
“thoughtful and well-defined solutions”
Show it by: a time you slowed down to get a detail right.
“what you’ve learned”
Show it by: one lesson for each job, project or hobby on your CV.
UBS’s principles and behaviors
Show it by: a choice you made the right way, not the easy way.
The first five come from UBS’s GTP page. The Culture Match test is scored “in line with our UBS principles and behaviors”, set out on UBS’s culture page. A live 2027 Frankfurt Global Banking ad also asks for “experimental and responsible use of AI”. That is not a London ad.

Who can apply, and the rules on applying
- Eligibility. On track for a 2:1 in your first undergraduate degree. Degree finished “by the program start date”. Graduated “in the last 24 months” (GTP page).
- One programme. “You may only apply for one program within the UK and one in the rest of EMEA (excluding Switzerland) during the same academic year.”
- Email. Apply with a personal address “to avoid any issues with our emails being blocked”. The tests come from UBS’s do-not-reply sender, so check your spam folder (FAQ).
- Form questions. UBS does not publish the questions on its form or any word limits.
- Tests. They are sent “shortly after submitting your application, unless you’ve already taken and passed the online assessments in the last six months”.
Your CV: do and don’t
Do

Still a student, or not selected? Your options
- Still a student? UBS also runs spring and summer programmes in London. Its summer page offers “the opportunity to join our UBS Graduate Talent Program if you excel in your summer internship”. Spring week attendees can be “considered for a place on our 2028 summer intern program”.
- Not selected? UBS’s FAQ says you can apply again “when our next intake cycle begins”. It does not give detailed feedback.
- Your two choices. One UK programme and one in the rest of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, outside Switzerland, each academic year.
05/10Stage 2 · Online tests
The online tests
Stage 2 is up to four online tests. UBS says “The assessments you’re assigned will be dependent on the business area you’re applying to.”
7 days
168 hours from the invitation
No retakes
So pick a time you can focus
6 months
A pass is reused for this long
From UBS’s FAQ: “if you applied at 10 a.m. on a Saturday, all assessments must be fully completed before 10 a.m. the following Saturday.” If you miss it, “your application will be withdrawn.”
Step through the four tests
Verbal reasoning
UBS says this test looks at “how you draw logical conclusions from complex verbal” information.
Your moves
- Judge each statement on the text alone, not on what you know.
- Read the question before the passage, so you know what to look for.
- Practise with the free verbal sample on Aon’s page.
Numerical reasoning
UBS says it tests “numerical information from tables and charts”.
Your moves
- Check the units and the time period on every table first.
- Practise percentage change and ratios until they are quick.
- Try the free numerical sample on Aon’s page.
Inductive-logical reasoning
UBS says: “You’ll be looking at logical rules in patterns and then applying them to different sets of patterns.”
Your moves
- Track one feature at a time: shape, count, position or colour.
- Say the rule in words before you pick an answer.
- Try the free inductive samples on Aon’s page.
UBS Culture Match
UBS’s own test: “Realistic, hypothetical work scenarios where you need to pick the most effective course of action, in line with our UBS principles and behaviors.”
Your moves
- Read UBS’s culture page first. The test is scored against it.
- Answer as you would really act at work, not as a hero.
- There is no public practice for this one, so do not pay for a pack.
What changed
Inductive-logical reasoning is new. UBS’s page in July 2025 listed three tests: verbal, numerical and the Culture Match.
The rules: what you can do
Allowed
- Practice in advance
- Adjustments, if you need them
- Any time within seven days
- Reusing a pass from the last six months
Not allowed
- Someone else sitting them
- Retakes
- Finishing after the deadline
From UBS’s GTP page and FAQ. The tests “should be completed only by the applicant”. UBS publishes no rule on calculators, notes or AI during the tests. Ask UBS for adjustments before you start.

The video interview
Stage 3 is a pre-recorded video interview. “After passing our online assessments (and if you’re a good fit), you might receive a link to record your video interview.”
UBS’s GTP page says: “Dress smartly, keep good eye contact with the camera and be concise.” On AI review it says: “our people are the ones making decisions around here.” UBS does not publish the platform, the number of questions or the prep time.

Visa sponsorship
UBS’s graduate pages and ads do not mention visa sponsorship. We checked on 18 October 2026.
Our reading: do not assume sponsorship. Ask UBS before you apply if you will need a visa. For reference, a Graduate visa lasts “2 years if you apply on or before 31 December 2026” and “18 months if you apply on or after 1 January 2027” (GOV.UK).
Need sponsorship? See our guides to UK companies that sponsor visas and staying in the UK after studying. This is general information, so check GOV.UK.
